Hand-Building Absences + Make-Ups
For fully sold out classes, we can only offer make-up spots when students notify us in advance of their upcoming absences.
Please notify us of all absences in advance via the form below. This will help your fellow students make-up class time!
Step 1: Reporting Your Absence
First, fill out this form to mark yourself as absent in an upcoming class. The more notice, the better.
Once you submit that form, in ~1 minute, you can refresh this webpage to refresh the sheet below (the website does not refresh automatically).
Step 1.5: Check for available make-ups
Check this spreadsheet for make-up spot availability. It will change throughout the session. As other students submit their absences, their spots will become available for make-up scheduling. The number in the sheet denotes how many open spaces are available for make-ups during that class time (0 = class is full)
Step 2: Scheduling a Make-Up
Second, fill out this form to secure your spot in a make-up class. Your spot is not secured until you submit this form & receive a confirmation email.
Do not send in duplicate requests and do not submit a make-up for a class with no space!
Check the spreadsheet below for make-up spot availability. It will change throughout the session. As other students submit their absences, their spots will become available for make-up scheduling. The number in the sheet below denotes how many open spaces are available for make-ups during that class time (0 = class is full).
Choosing a Make-Up Spot
Our classes run from Sunday to Friday, with Sunday being the first day and Friday being the last day of the class week. Our Beginner Hand-Building Syllabus is set by week. Intermediate Syllabus varies. Monday evenings are our Intermediate Hand-Building class.
If you are making up a class with the intent to learn the curriculum that you will be missing that week, aim to schedule a make-up within the same week.
(e.g. if you are enrolled in Monday afternoons missing Week 2, Coils, attempt to schedule a make-up later in Week 2, a Beginner class on Tues-Wed.
If you are making up a class not for the curriculum but more for studio time and help from a teacher, you can schedule classes in different skill levels or weeks.
(e.g. if you are a Beginner student missing Week 4, if there is a space available, you can schedule yourself for Intermediate Monday evening, Week 3, to get studio time and assistance from the teacher as they walk around offering help.)
