Prerequisite: Students must be proficient hand builders or wheel throwers who require minimal instruction or assistance in creating forms. Demonstrations within this class will be exclusively in surface design and decoration.

This class is ideal for returning students (both hand builders and wheel throwers) looking to explore new possibilities for decorating their work!

Each week we will explore different techniques to add texture, color, and character to our ceramic pieces. Students will learn about materials and techniques for decorating their pieces at various stages from wet clay, leather hard, bone dry and bisque stages.

Course fee includes 10lb of fired clay per class, unlimited practice clay, use of all community tools and equipment, studio glazes made in-house, bisque firing and glaze firing. Students may fire and keep up to 10lb fired clay per class. Open studios on Saturdays are also included for students currently enrolled in a class.
